Members Annual Meeting

It was a pleasure to welcome our WI advisor, a large amount of members & visitors to our annual meeting.

The meeting progressed with general business & correspondence received within the month. It was noted the VRG autumn meeting had been a great success with ladies from Hartford WI assisting with refreshments & stewardship.

Hartford WI’s walking netball team had recently participated at a walking netball festival in Macclesfield & were delighted to win the award for friendliest player of the tournament.

Following the general business of the evening, the annual meeting & reading of reports commenced. The financial statement was presented by the Treasurer, proposed, seconded & accepted by members. The Secretary then presented the annual report, again seconded & accepted by members. Following an address by our current President the evening moved on to election of her successor. A ballot was carried out by our WI advisor & a new president elected. Other Committee members are also stepping down from their roles this year & new Committee members will be instated. Hartford WI members were introduced to the new Committee .

The evening concluded with ladies who had benefited from bursaries informing members about the projects they had undertaken. Two ladies had completed willow weaving courses making a pheasant & a peacock, another had undertaken an advanced driving course. One member had participated in a fused glass workshop & another is joining a Xmas wreath making class, having already attended a flower arranging course.

Finally, it was time to award the cups. The Royce Cup was awarded to the member who had accumulated the most points in the monthly competitions with the New Zealand spoon being awarded to the runner-up. The Lil Moore cup was awarded for the winning entry in Hartford WI’s summer show along with the Literary Award for the winning poem in the show.

The meeting was concluded by both our outgoing President & Secretary thanking members for their support whilst they have been in office.

On behalf of everyone at Hartford WI, we thank our President, Secretary & other Committee members who have stepped down this year for their unwavering support, hard work & dedication – thank you
