Hannah Grahame from The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT)was the speaker this month. Hannah provided an insight into the work the Trust undertakes & a brief background of its conception. Formed by Tim Grundy this charitable organisation supports children from the North West of England who live challenging lives, be it through poverty, life limiting illness, disability, abuse or bereavement providing respite break & holiday facilities
Whilst the time & support provided is free, this means the Trust needs to raise at least £1million each year to carry on their work. Hannah explained in 2023, the Children’s Adventure Farm facilitated circa 20,000 visits. This was made up of a combination of hourly, daily or 3 day residential stays which also included family members.
The 17th century farmhouse is set in 10 acres of the Cheshire countryside & provides a haven for children & their families. Hannah was able to share examples of the activities provided & also the future vision of the Trust & farm to provide a much needed facility.
