It was great to see so many members & visitors this month (the weather certainly being better than last month). The meeting was opened by our President who welcomed all present. The Secretary continued the meeting by reminding members to cast their votes for resolutions if they had not already done so. Information regarding various workshops, meetings & courses was relayed to ladies Programme 2025/2026
Group leaders updated members on activities that had taken place during the previous month & forthcoming events. It was fantastic to hear Hartford ladies had entered the Quizzical darts evening & had been placed 4th in the competition – congratulations to all who took part.
It is hoped this year Hartford WI will be able to undertake more outings to visit places of interest & in this regard the group leader provided information on proposed trips & encouraged all those interested to sign up!
Last years Hartford Show was a great success & so it is planned to carry on with the event this year which will take place on Wednesday 4th June 2025, 7.30 p.m. We are also delighted to have been offered a marquee at Arley Hall to participate in the celebration of their 30th anniversary & so will hold a subsequent show on 28th/29th June 2025. A sub-committee has been set up to manage these events.
We did not have a speaker this month, but ladies were fully entertained by taking part in a beetle drive. Competition was fierce to complete beetles, with shrieks of “beetle” when happily having drawn their insect or groans at not finishing!
The meeting concluded with our President giving a demonstration on the use of a defibrillator. This important piece of equipment could be vital in an emergency medical situation & it was very useful to learn how to be able to locate & utilise it.
