Winter has finally arrived! Thanks to all those that were brave enough to venture out in the icy conditions. The meeting was opened by our new President & Secretary welcoming ladies to the first meeting of the new year.
Information was given out regarding the WI resolutions for this year. Deadline for voting is the Thursday after our February meeting. Further details can also be found in the Nov/Dec issues of WI Life.
Unfortunately CFWI have voted overwhelmingly to not have a WI marquee at the Cheshire Show this year. There will only be an information stand, but WI members are still encouraged to attend and enjoy the show.
Hartford Hot Shots, Walking Netball group enjoyed a Christmas meal at the Bowling Green after their last session of 2024 & look forward to resuming playing netball at St John Dean College in the New Year.
Our speaker this month was Elizabeth Morris who gave a talk on the Brunner Mond mystery, an interesting dramatization of a true crime case about a murder/suicide of one of the Brunner brothers during the period of the ICI takeover.
